Residents of Mbayi village in Kiminini sub county are horrified as a 38 year old man has allegedly defiled and killed his 8 year old daughter.
The body of the minor was found dumped in a thicked next to Kiminini river.
Speaking to the press, Kiminini deputy police commander, John Onditi confirmed the incident, disclosing that the suspect returned from home late and found his family asleep and went straight to where his daughter was sleeping, he then woke her up and took her to the thicket next to the river and performed thi heinous act.
According to Onditi, the suspect's wife Florence Simiyu woke up to a rude shock when she realised that both her daughter and her husband were not in the house. She then alerted her neighbour who then accompanied her in search for them. It's through this efforts that they discovered the body of the minor dumped in the thicket.
This discovery provoked an angry reaction from the villagers who were baying for the suspect's blood.
It took the swift action from the police officers who were quick to arrive at the scene to save the suspect from the mob. The suspect was then arrested and taken to the Kiminini Police Station awaiting to be arraigned and the body of the victim taken to the Kiminini cottage hospital awaiting autopsy.
