While speaking in Mombasa during the ushering in of the new year, Kenyan head of state Dr. William Ruto said that his government will be pumping in more into the TVET sector.
The president disclosed his plan adding 15 billion shillings to 70 TVET Institutions to aid in training of learners to fit into the adjusting labour market.
The president also said that his government will be hiring additional 3000 tutors for the TVET Institutions.
"We will hire more tutors to look after our TVET Institutions because TVET has the best human capital that is tailored toward science, Technical, Engineering and Mathematical (stem) subjects that will lead us to Engineering because that is the future we seek." Ruto said
"We ensure that the government-initiated in-service, including Teachers Continuous Professional Development." He added
I'm the Kenya Kwanza Education Charter, the government promised to accomplish the construction of TVET Institutions in each ward and also to ensure that each constituency has a Tertiary institutions
" Within the first two years, we will establish and equip Technical and Vocational Training Institutions in each of the remaining 52 constituencies." The charter said.
