The Barcelona coach heaped praise on his squad, after they beat Real Madrid to win the Spanish Supercup on Sunday in Saudi Arabia, asserting that the win could be a turning pint for them.
Xavi gave his team all the plaudits after taking home his first trophy as a Barcelona manager, asserting that the win would release the pressure on his relatively young squad and set them up for more successful future.
"This squad has received a lot of unfair criticism and today many players have set themselves free. They will work more calmly." Xavi said.
"I've been there for so many years and I know how players suffer when things don't go well, today is the start of a new dynamics," the second year boss added.
The former Barcelona player has been in charge of the blaugrana for 15 months and managed to win his first trophy with the 3-1 victory over their arch rivals Real Madrid on Sunday night.
Next for Barcelona are Ceuta in Coper del Ray clash next week.
