Mexican side Pumas Unam, have released Dani Alves after his imprisonment in a Barcelona prison.
>This comes after the former Barcelona wing back was accused of sexual assault by a woman in Catalonia.
"With this decision, the club reiterates its promise not to tolerate acts by any member of our institution that violates the spirits of the institution and its values," the president of the club's board of directors Leopoldo Solva said.
"The Univasidad National Club, is an institution that promotes respect and integrity and outstanding behaviour on and off the field, on its platers because they are a role model to the society, in Mexico and anywhere else in the world and we cannot allow the conduct of one person to damage our phylosoohy that has always been exemplary in the training and development of young athletes in our country," he added.
>Alves, 39,wa0s arrested in Barcelona on Friday and after making his statement, the judge in charge of his case ordered he be remanded without bail for allegedly defiling a23 year old woman in the washroom of a nightclub in Catalonia on the night of December 30th.
